NWA's first album was released in 1987 called NWA and the posse. It was party-oriented and was ignored. In 1988 MC Ren was added to the group. NWA changed their style and released The album 'Straight Outta Compton'. It became a hit with virtually no radio or TV play. The song 'Fuck tha Police' resulted in a warning letter from the FBI to Ruthless Records and Priority. Ice Cube left in 1989 due to financial disagreements. In 1990 NWA group released a EP called 100 miles and runnin'. In 1991 Their next album was released called Efil4zaggin. Ice Cube attacked the group and its management in 1991 with the song 'No Vaseline' on his album 'Death Certificate'. Dr Dre wanted to leave the group and left to form Death Row Records with Suge Knight in 1992. Knight threatened to kill NWA's manager Jerry Hibbler if he refused to let Dre out of his contract. Dr Dre and Snoop Doggy Dogg dissed Eazy-E on his album The Chronic on serveral songs including F___ wit Dre Day. Eazy E dissed Dr Dre back on his albums. Yella and MC Ren both released solo albums. Eazy-E died in March 1995 from AIDS. NWA reformed in 1999 for 1 song, Dr Dre, Ice Cube, MC Ren and Yella with Snoop Dogg made the song Chin Check on the Next Friday Soundtrack. |
